![]() In the 80’s another breakthrough in technology and graphic design occurred when Apple created and released the first ever Macintosh computer system. Also in 1969 Douglas Engelbert developed the first mouse device which helped sculpt the future of graphic design, and the lengths it can go to. Wolfgang Weingart was especially popular in this era. This was a era where post modernism was popular in graphic design. In the late 60’s DigiGrotesk was created, which was the first digital font. The Digiset was so advanced that it could image 1000 characters per second. This machine was a revolution, as it was assembled with a bitmap typefaces. Rudolf Hell then created a third generation photo composition machine known as the digiset. Colin Forbes and Theo Crosby were two names reknowned for creating popular pieces In the early 60’s, pop art was an upcoming trend throughout the graphic design scene. Hot or cold fonts were also created by using either hot or cold metal when creating a letter. In 1932 Stanley Morison overlooked the design of the popular font Times New Roman which was commissioned by the times of London That is the general look of the font ball. The IBM logo was designed by Paul Rand in 1956 using city medium typeface. This also helped make it a lot easier to change different font in the same document. In 1961 IBM then revolutionised the typewriter by removing the traditional cartridge and replacing it with a ‘font ball’. It helped the growing industry expand even more. The first typewriter was created by Peter Mitterhofer which had a keyboard attached to it. This machine created many algorithms and computation, which can be considered as the model of a general purpose computer. ![]() Turing, was responsible for creating the Turing machine. Then they added YZ to it which they used in Roman Numerals which is still used today. The Roman’s then derived the Latin alphabet with the Greek one. Though at that time there was still no lower case letters or punctuation. It is not known how the alphabet first came around, though it is noted that the ancient Greeks used the Phoenician alphabet of 22 letters. These hieroglyphics are how the ancient Eyptians conveyed their stories of what it was like to live at that time in history. From hieroglyphics to the digital apps we use today.
